The Eagle Has Landed

Another late crack of the whip but it has been a mad house around here. This blog covers the week of July 13 - July 19.
Well this week started out with a real humdinger. We rolled into work on Monday to find out that the teacher I switched with did a midnight run at some point during the weekend so the middle school was back down a staff member. That meant that on more than one occasion during the week I had to go down and cover a class. But wait it only gets better. By Thursday, Dustin fell ill and ended up in the hospital with an unknown problem. This meant that the middle school was down by two teachers so Avalon puled a new teacher from our Lancon campus down the road (who just got here) to come over, but it still meant that there were classes for me to cover on Friday.
Let me take a minute to mention how awesome it was covering the class at the elementary school after Brady left, too. It was some of the most fun I have had teaching and some of the most adorable kids I have been in a class with since getting here. They were so eager to work and please the teacher. It helps when there is a prospect of stickers at the end of class too.
As it was we got the week over with and went out for some well deserved beers Friday night at Gold Bar.
It was also the night Blake returned to the country. Unfortunately, since nobody adjusts in one afternoon, he stayed in and got some rest. We did get together Saturday after I had a full platter of meetings during my day.
I got up Saturday to go meet Bo Ram and have some English practice, after that I went straight to Myeongdong to have all you can eat sea food with Brian and So Hyun. It was a delicious and over stuffing meal. After that I walked around for a bit to kill time before going to Hyaywha to meet Sung Eun and see another dance performance. This dance was choreographed by Sung Eun's favorite and world famous Korean choreographer, Sung Soo Ahn, and was called 'Jang Mi and Mating Dance'. It was one of my favorites so far. After that we went out for some dinner and then I headed to Apgujong to meet up with the regulars.
In Apgujong we were gathering to meet up with Blake and to celebrate Gina's birthday. It was a pretty good celebration and nice to see Blake again, as well as some of the others that we hadn't seen in a while. We had a great night and stayed out until a decent hour and then retired back to our places.
On Sunday Blake and I got together for a walk along the river and just to hang out. After that we grabbed some dinner and called it a week.
The weather has been changing and I hope it stays for our coming trip to Jeju.
Take care.
