This week I found a new love in slapping the desks of kids who are not paying attention, not working, or who are writing on the desks. I have done it in the past, but this past week I was sure I was going to break my hand with the force I was slapping the desks. It may not be the best thing to do but it sure does get the kids attention long enough for me to give them trouble for whatever they were doing. it seems to be effective for the time being but we will see how it pans out in the coming weeks. The work week went by pretty quickly and Jameson and I returned to the gym which made us feel much better about ourselves.
On Friday we all went out to a bar very close to both ours and the elementary school because it was a trifecta of birthday parties. There were three teachers (2 foreign, and one Korean) from the elementary campus with birthdays in a few day span so we had one big celebration. We were even able to get Dustin, the teacher from California at our school, to come out which was huge because he is not a big outing guy and has turned us down since we got here. He is beginning to realize, i think, that life is too boring if you just sit in your apartment every night. We had a great time and stayed out until around 330 chatting and doing some karaoke.
On Saturday I had big plans to get out and see some of the city because the weather was absolutely gorgeous. Infact, it was in the mid to high teens all week and weekend. Unfortunately plans got messed up and it became too late in the day to get out and about before everyone wanting to have dinner, and get ready to go out for the night. So I scrapped the outing plan, had a nap and waited for dinner confirmation from Blake.
We ended up meeting in Sincheon with Garret, Brian, Jameson, and Margaret for Dak Galbi (chicken stir-fry) and some beers at Garret's since he is leaving very soon. After Garret's we headed to Apgujong to meet up with Junk, Gina, and a gaggle of others. In total there were about 15 of us once Anne showed up around 12 and Charles showed up, against everybody's will, around 1. We stayed at the low key bar for a while until some of the group had to go home and others wanted to go to Monkey Beach, a dance club in the area. We went dancing until around 330, when some of us decided to head out and others decided to head to another bar. I was one of the ones who left and on the way home saw a car on its roof on the highway. There were no serious injuries that I could see of and there was no sense of panic amongst the police so my cab driver just drove around it and kept on going.
Sunday was spent hanging out in bed watching TV and movies before cleaning up a little and calling home to check in.
Hope you are all having a good week. Talk to you soon.
